Janis Jones-Stinson, 88, of Muncie, IN began rejoicing with her beloved Heavenly Father, her beloved husband''s R. Gouthey Jones, David Stinson and her son Gary Lee Jones. She was born on December 30, 1920 in Delaware County, IN the daughter of Hoyt James and Veda (Whitehead) Lowery.
She was a dedicated pastor''s wife of 22 years and loved working in the Church and serving the Lord. She was a graduate of Olivet Nazarene College and directed choir at the Nazarene church in Indianapolis before moving to California 5 years ago and joining Santa Ana 1st Church of the Nazarene
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, two grandchildren and their spouses in California. Her extended family includes one other grandson and spouse, two great-grandchildren in Washington DC, two step-children seven step-grandchildren a niece and nephew and several cousins in the surrounding areas of Indiana.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 14, 2009 at Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene 10450 S. CR 544 E. Selma, IN. Rev. Jim Ballenger will officiate the service. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene in memory of Janis.
