Mary Opal Eviston, 85 of Mooreland, died Monday evening, April 10th, 2017 at the home of her daughter. She was born August 17th, 1931 in Big Bone Lick, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late John Harvey & Mary Ann (Earlywine) Varner.
Opal retired as a teller from First Merchants Bank. She loved raising flowers, watching the Cincinnati Reds Baseball and especially loved being with her family. Opal loved to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their activities.
Opal is survived by her six children, Barbara Bennett of Mooreland, Sharlene Cross (John) of Independence , KY, Tim Urlage (Karen) of Mooreland, Kevin Urlage of Abline, TX, Chris Eviston (Jennifer) of Muncie, and Greg Eviston (Monica) of Losantville; thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Edward Eviston, two brothers and a sister.
Funeral Services for Opal will be held Friday, April 14th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Losantsville. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
