Mattie Elsie Long, 83, of Muncie, IN passed away March 29, 2010 at the Waters of Yorktown after a brief illness. Mattie was born May 7th, 1927 in Bedford, Indiana to Cecil and Nellie (Baker) Jones. She had resided in Muncie since her early teens. She graduated from Central High School in 1946.
Mattie is survived by four children, Dallas Bullard (wife: Karen); David Bullard (wife: Faye); Connie Cook, (husband: Lloyd); and Stacy Bullard (wife: Barbara); one brother, Lowell Jones, (wife: Eileen), Muncie and a half sister Norma of Bedford; nine grandchildren, Dallas Jr., Derrick, Mike, Donny, Todd, Jennifer, Melissa, Benjamin and Joshua, 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was a homemaker all her adult life and proud of it. She was a very happy, generous, caring person. Everyone loved her for her laughter and sense of humor. She was very proud of all her children, and grandchildren. She loved to keep house and work with flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, three brothers, Denzil, Vurtis, and Harold, and husbands Fred Bullard and Stanley Long.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday March 31, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Dennis Trimble will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
