Mattie S. Moore, 79, of Muncie, was born September 9, 1929 to the late Alphonso Moore, Sr. and Luester Moore. On June 25, 2009, she departed this life to begin an everlasting life with Christ.
Mattie loved doing the Lords work. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, and was an usher for Antioch Baptist church, a member of the Antioch Choir and took care of many foster children. She was also a dedicated member of Seven Sisters of Color.
Mattie owned Mattie's BBQ in Muncie, IN.
Mattie leaves her family and friends to cherrish her loving memory, son, James Moore of Muncie; brothers, Authur Moore of Chicago, IL and Samuel James Parker of West Memphis, AR; sisters, Maggie Wilson, Virginia Anderson, Callie Johnson, and Viloet Moore, all of Chicago, IL; sister-in-law, Lorene Thompson of Muncie; grandchildren, Ronald Brown, James Moore, Jr. "Bomanit Moore", Gail Elliott, and Denettra; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and loving friends.
Mattie was preceded in death by both parents; sister, Louester Smith; and brother, Alphonso Moore, Jr.
Funeral service is Thursday 12 noon at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, with visitation two hours prior.
Burial in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3, Muncie, IN.
