Maurice B. Carver of Bradenton, Florida passed away at the age of 94 on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Westminster Point Pleasant in Bradenton. He was born on March 19, 1927 in Alexandria, Indiana to the late C. Everett Carver and S. Mildred (Hughes) Carver.

After graduating from Gaston High School, Maurice proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He married Nancy L. Phares on July 18, 1996, and together they journeyed through life until her passing in 2018. Maurice retired from Warner Gear in 1976 after 30 years of service. He had also worked as a Hauler for The Muncie Star Press for 22 years. He was a member of the Muncie Lodge 433, Chapter 30, Council 16, Commandery 18 and K.Y.C.H.

Maurice is survived by two sons, Michael L. Carver and Martin E. Carver; one daughter, Kindra L. Oates; one step daughter, Vicky L. Rector; four grandchildren; and eight step grandchildren.

Maurice was preceded in death by his parents, C. Everett Carver and S. Mildred (Hughes) Carver; his wife, Nancy L. (Phares) Carver; one step daughter, Kathy L. Bow; one brother, Ben E. Carver; and one sister, LaVera M. Smith.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 1:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home, officiated by Ashley Ferdin and with Military Honors. Burial will take place in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 10:30 AM. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.gardenviewandgardensofmemory.com .
