Max William "Bill" Stine Jr., passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009 in Sebring, Florida, at Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center.
Bill was born February 14, 1940 in Muncie to the late Max William Sr. and Lennie May Stine.
He was a United States Marine Corp. veteran.
He spent most his life as an electrician and later worked as a truck driver for J & D Trucking in Farmland before his retirement in 2006. He had also been a past Farmland business owner. He enjoyed golf, gardening, and spending winters at his Sebring, Florida home.
Bill is survived by his wife, Janie Sherfy-Stine who he married February 5, 2005; he is also survived by four children, Jodie Scales (husband, Steve) of Parker City, Laura Martin (husband, Carl) of Farmland, Mike Stine (wife, Barbara) of Farmland, and Jason Stine (wife, Tracie) of Cave Creek, AZ; six step-children, Tod Danielson (wife, Pam) of Texas, Shawn Sherfy (wife, Nikki) of Muncie; Tammi Baldwin (husband, Shafter) of South Carolina, Carla Walters (companion, Kenny Hughes) of Muncie, Shannon Rehrer (husband, Todd) of Columbia City, and Sharyl Cook (husband, Bryan) of Selma; a sister, Barbara Hotmire (husband, Joe) of Ridgeville; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; fourteen step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Diane Morrison Stine who he married December 19, 1961 and preceded him in death on January 9, 1999.
A funeral service to celebrate Bill's life will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2009 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home at 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie.
Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2009 and one hour prior to services Monday from 10-11 a.m. at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
