Obituary

Maxine C. Crawley, 93, of Gaston, died early Tuesday morning, November 26th, 2013 at the Waters of Muncie. She was born July 19th, 1920 in Niles, MI, and was the daughter of the late Fred G. and Lillian J. (Therrien) Schumaker. She was the youngest daughter of eleven siblings.

Maxine attended John Adams High School in South Bend. She retired from Ball State University as a head housekeeper. Maxine enjoyed life in the country out by Gaston. She loved the outdoors and taking care of her yard. Maxine enjoyed life and was a very active lady.

Maxine is survived her daughter Sharon Licht (Russell) of Selma; son Robert D. Crawley of Selma; a brother Fred Schumaker of New Mexico; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step father, her husband of 49 years Robert (Bob) Crawley in 1990, and ten of her siblings.

Funeral Services for Maxine will be held Saturday, November 30th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Petro officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Southern Care Hospice, with envelopes provided at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the helpful and caring staff at the Waters of Muncie for the care provided during her stay.
