Michael B. Chilcote,89, of Muncie, passed away at 1:06 am, on April 4, 2026, at Morrison Woods Health Campus in Muncie. He was born in Dunkirk, Indiana, on March 17,1937, to Walter and Martha Jane (Borton) Chilcote. He married Sharon (DeHaven) Chilcote and she preceded him in death on January 14, 2026.

Michael attended Purdue University and then continued his career as a plant manager, until his retirement, at The Saint Joe Paper Company.

He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Michael was also a part of the Itannicnic Club.

He is survived by his children, Amanda (Tony) Bedwell, Scott Chilcote, and Shawn (Sheila) Chilcote; brother, Jay Walter (Bobbie) Chilcote; sister, Jane Shatto; grandchildren, Matthew (Allison), Hayley, Cory, Emily, Brandon (Lydia), Sam (Ashley) and Brody; and great-grandchildren, Lilah, Margo, and Elanor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sharon Chilcote; and a sister, Honey Lou Lovis.

Per the family’s request there will be a private service.

Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
