Michael J Lawell, 81 of Muncie passed away Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022 at IU/Ball Hospital in Muncie. He was born November 24, 1940 to the late Chester and Mary Lawell.


He is survived by his wife of 61 years Sandra Sue (Aldrich) Lawell and his four children Joanne Guinn, Michael Lawell, Catherine Lawell, Christopher Lawell and five grandchildren.


A lifelong Muncie resident, Mike was a Store Manager for Haag Drug and Peoples Drug stores prior to opening Lawell's Gift Shop downtown and Tomy's Closet on Wheeling Ave with Sandra. He was an avid collector of stamps and a talented photographer. He was a 1958 graduate of Muncie Central High School, lifelong Bearcat fan and a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Reds and NASCAR.


The family has requested visiting hours and services to remain private. Michael's wishes were to donate to a charity of your choice in lieu of flowers.
