Michael Bruce McKillip, Sr., 73 of Muncie, died Monday afternoon, July 10, 2017 at his residence. He was born May 17, 1944 in Muncie and was the son of the late John D. & Ruth (Watson) McKillip.
Michael was a graduate of Muncie Central High School Class of 1962. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Michael was a member of the UAW and Avondale Sympathy Club. Music was a very important part of Michael''s life. He loved spending time outdoors either golfing or fishing. Michael was very active in helping with the food pantry over the years at Friends Memorial Church.
Michael is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Toni Carol (Davidson) McKillip of Muncie; a son Michael Bruce McKillip, Jr. (Karmen) of New Castle; a daughter Polly Pavey (Jack Lynch) of Warsaw; a granddaughter Morgan McKillip of New Castle; three brothers John McKillip of Yorktown, Phillip McKillip (Ann) of Maryville, TN, and Richard McKillip of Muncie; three sisters Judy Dunsmore of Elkhart, Janice James (Lindy) of Pennville, IN, and Peggy Bales of Eaton, IN; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers Steve McKillip, Fred McKillip and Alvin "Bud" McKillip; three sisters Fern Atkinson, Faye Bryan, and Virginia Brinson.
Funeral Services for Michael will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Michael Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
