Michael (Mike) L. New "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7) Michael L. New, 66, went home to be with the Lord Saturday evening, July 28, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital with his family by his side. Michael was born June 18, 1946, in Muncie, Indiana, to Carl F., Sr. and Ella M.(Davis) New. Michael was a 1964 graduate of Muncie Central High School. He was employed as a route salesman for Riggin''s Dairy, Muncie; Borden''s Dairy, Tampa, Florida; and Lance Inc., Muncie. Michael was a member of Union Chapel Ministries where he served as a greeter and usher. Survivors include his loving wife of almost 43 years, Sharon K. (Rodeffer) New, Muncie; his daughter, Dawn E. New, Bloomington; his brother, Carl F. New, Jr., and his wife Denise, Muncie; brother-in-law, Gary E. Rodeffer, Sr. and his wife Rebecca, Muncie; and sister-in-law, Karen R. Shingleton and her husband Guinn, Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews. Services to celebrate Michael''s life will be held at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. St. Rd 3, on Friday, August 3, at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Glenn Greiner and Pastor Guinn Shingleton will be officiating the service. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Friends and family may call at Garden View from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, August 2 and one hour before services on Friday. The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Spahr, oncologist, and Dr. Thomas Melham, MD, for their care and concern. The nurses and medical techs at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and Bethel Pointe Rehab were also blessings to the family in the last few weeks.
