Michael Dewane Wright, 68, of Muncie passed Thursday morning, June 29th, 2017 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born November 19th, 1948 in Muncie and was the son of the late Vernon Earl & Delores Jean (Priddy) Wright.
Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Mike enjoyed fishing, cookouts and antique cars, he was especially proud of his 67 Chevrolet Camaro. Mike proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, United States Army and the National Guard. He served in Vietnam. Mike retired from YOC.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 15 years Sheila Jane (McClure) Wright of Muncie; a son Michael Dewane Wright, Jr. (Carlotta) of West Plains , MO; two daughters Michelle Johnson and Majenica Nelson (Darrin) both of Anderson; a step-daughter Davina Taylor of Muncie; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his brother, neighbor, caregiver, and best friend Terry Wright (Kathy) of Muncie; a sister Verna Lindley of Muncie; close family friend Delmar Campbell of Muncie. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew Terry Robert Wright, Jr.
Funeral Services for Mike will be held Monday, July 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Denny Helton officiating. Burial with military honors being conducted by the United States Air Force and the Delaware County Honor Guard will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2- 4 p.m. Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the funeral home.
