Mildred C. King, 89, Muncie, entered Heaven's gates on Monday, December 29, 2025.  She was born to parents, Aubrey O. Hickey and Reba (Dunn) Hickey.  She married the love of her life; Ernest J. King and he preceded her in 2015.

Mildred was a member of Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church and going to church was an important part of her life.  She enjoyed working in her garden and cooking family favorites such as her chicken n' dumplins and her German chocolate cake.  She also spent many years fishing at the family lake cottage in Coldwater, Michigan.  Most of all she loved her family gatherings where she could spend time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters, Vicky (Bucky) Owens and Debbie (Mike) Adams; grandchildren, Shane Adams, Brian (Gina) Adams, Mindy (Mike) Barnett, Jacob (Sara) Owens, and Erika (Logan) Nunn, great-grandchildren, Genavive, Thatcher, Aiden, Benaiah, Sarah, Sammie, and Abigail, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Aubrey Hickey; sister,
Lewellen Carter; and daughter, Rebecca C. Hawkins.

Family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. St. Rd 3, Muncie, IN 47303.

Following visitation, a service to celebrate Mildred's life will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Trimble officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
