Mildred Louise Porter, 90 of Muncie, died early Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born April 28, 1926 in Parker City and was the daughter of the late Willard & Verna (Parks) Lamb.
Mildred loved and enjoyed being a nurse. She retired in 1987 from Woodlawn Nursing Home with 25 years of service. Mildred loved gardening, sewing and baking. She was a member of Hazelwood Christian Church.
Mildred is survived by her daughter Brenda K. Divens of Muncie; a grandson Scott Divens (Lori) of Pendleton and a great-grandson Nate Divens of Pendleton. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Allan F. Porter, a son Allan W. Porter, a daughter Patty Ann Porter, a sister Betty Wert and a brother Robert Lamb.
Funeral Services for Mildred will be held Thursday, March 30th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Don Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
