Mildred Alice Jones, 90, of Muncie, died Monday night, January 14th, 2013 at the Waters of Muncie. She was born June 22nd, 1922 in Princeton, IN., and was the daughter of the late Albert & Edith (Grady) Malone.
Mildred was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Shaffer Chapel AME.
She is survived by a son Rodney Jones of Muncie, a daughter Judy Phelps of Olathe, KS.; seven grandchildren, Rodney Jones Jr. of Rochester, NY., Teresa Ayela-Uwangue (Aisosa) of Chandler, AZ., Nicholas Jones of San Diego, CA., Jade Phelps, Jordan Phelps, Jared Phelps, Jamison Phelps, all of Olathe, KS.; six great-grandchildren, Tianna Jones, Rodney Jones III, James Jones, Isabella Jones, Evie Ayela-Uwangue, and Isoken Ayela-Uwangue; a brother Ronald Malone (Celeste) of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Elmer H. Jones in 2004; two sons LeDon and Terrence Jones; a grandson LeDon Jones Jr.; three brothers, Merion, Darwin, and Gene Malone; two sisters, Marjorie Artis and Carla Mays.
Funeral Services for Mildred will be held Monday, January 21st, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Rev. Leroy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
