Mildred Lorene Rhodes, 91 of Muncie died Tuesday morning, April 11th, 2017 at her residence. She was born September 18th, 1925 in Indianapolis, IN and was the daughter of the late Isaac & Marie (Scharbrough) Nunley.
Mildred was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, and great-great grandma. She loved sewing, cooking, and doing charity work. Mildred had volunteered at Life stream, AMA, and the Visitors Bureau. She was a member of the Northside Assembly of God.
Mildred is survived by her eight children, William E. Rhodes (Donna Fay) of Muncie, Judith Ann Tabor (Rodger) of Parkersburg, WV, Carolyn Sue Case-Holloway (Simon) of Ossian, Sandra Case (Richard) of Muncie, Mary Stout (Ron) of Muncie, Cathie Martz (Ron) of Selma, Nancy Johnson (Steve) of Muncie, and Penny Clark (David) of Muncie; twenty-seven grandchildren, fifty-two great-grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren; two brothers Rex Kreager of Parker City, and Harland Merchant (Ruth) of Warsaw; two sisters Mary Martha Hardin of Muncie and Alta Kalley (Clifford) of Yorktown; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Rhodes in October of 2009; two sisters Junola West and Leanna Nunley; three brothers Arthur, Edmund, and Raymond Nunley; a special aunt Mary Moore; a son-in-law James Case and a grandson David Clark.
Funeral Services for Mildred will be held Monday, April 17th, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with Pastor Carlton E. Bowden officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home
