Obituary

Millard (Shorty) Stover was born on December 9, 1931, and departed this life on November 18, 2025. His parents were Cosby E. and Orlena Stover.

Millard was born in Livingston, Tennessee and later moved to Clarkrange, Tennessee. He served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. His rank was Corporal of the 25th Division Medical Battalion. He moved to Muncie, Indiana to find work in the mid 50's. He met and Married Louise (Stockton) Stover who was from Jamestown, Tennessee.

Millard worked at Franks Foundry for 31 years as a mold maker until they closed their doors. He then went to work as a courtesy driver at Johnny Morris Chevrolet which he really enjoyed until he retired. Millard's hobbies was working on and building Ford Motors. He was an excellent mechanic; he built his Ford mini hot rod tractor naming it "Rocky Top" and won many trophies in tractor pulling events thru out the state in the 1980's. He was an avid NASCAR fan, also loved to attend swap meets and flea markets.

Millard is survived by his daughters Becky Steele, Melinda (Ralph Lee) Reel, Dianna (Kevin) Bennett; one son Scott (Karen) Stover; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two brothers Estes Stover and Lewis Stover; two sisters Elease Nicholas and Orlena Murphy and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his wife of 51 years Louise Stover; grandson Jason Meer and son-in-law Dave Steele and a sister Nellie Elmore.

A visitation will be Monday, December 1, 2025 at 11:00 am until the time of service at Garden View Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Millard will be laid to rest next to his wife Louise at Gardens of Memory with full military honors.

In the lieu of flowers make donations to "Little Red Door Cancer Society" or "Dementia Society of America.
