Minnie E. Lunsford, age 93, of Muncie passed away on Friday November 14, 2014 at Liberty Village in Muncie. Born on April 13, 1921 in Messick,IN she was the daughter of William and Nannie (Floyd) Lunsford.
She was a lifetime area resident and graduated from New Castle High School with the Class of 1939. After high school, Minnie worked at Perfect Circle in Hagerstown, IN, where she was a real "Rosie the Riveter" making bullets for the war. The rest of her career was spent at General Motors, where she worked for 17 years, until her retirement in 1983. She was also a former member of the U.A.W.
Minnie is survived by a son Richard (Peggy) Lunsford of Yorktown and a grand-daughter Dea (Frank Jones) Lunsford of Chicago, IL.
She was preceded in death by her parents William and Nannie Lunsford, two brothers, and three sisters.
A private graveside service will be held for Minnie in honor of her wishes.
Memorial contributions in memory of Minnie may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association.
