Myrtle Ida Long, 92, of Eaton died peacefully Monday morning, March 28th, 2016 at Signature Healthcare. She was born October 1st, 1923 in Parker City and was the daughter of George & Pearl (King) Harty.
Myrtle was a faithful member of the First Pentecostal Church in Dunkirk and had been a member of Parkview Apostolic Church in Muncie, where she sang in the choir. She loved cooking, canning and going to church. Myrtle was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She loved her family greatly and enjoyed being with them, especially her grandchildren. Myrtle raised twelve children her four natural born children, four step-children and four grandchildren.
Myrtle is survived by her two son''s Robert L. Holten (Anne) of Palm Bay, FL and Jerry L. Holten (Cheryl) of Eaton; a step-son William Long of Muncie; a step-daughter Blanche Lapack of Ohio; thirty-three grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren; a sister Sonya Patterson (Bob) of Muncie; four brothers John Harty (Betty Jean) of Muncie, Larry Harty(Nila), William Harty of Farmland, and Ronald "Sonny" Harty of Muncie. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Judy Matchett, a son Carl Holten, two step-children Albert and Daniel Long; two sisters Rosemary Carr and Pearl Harty; two brothers Lavon and Dan Harty.
Funeral Services for Myrtle will held on Friday, April 1st, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home with her son Pastor Jerry L. Holten and brother William Harty officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
