Nancy Louise (Phares) Carver, 81 of Muncie a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Went to heaven Friday morning, December 7, 2018 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born May 9, 1937 in Richmond, Indiana and was named after her great grandmother Nancy Louise Johnson.  She was the daughter of the late Russell Eugene and Anne Malissa (Payne) Phares.

Nancy graduated from Hammond High School and Ball State University with a Masters in teaching. She went on to get her counseling license for elementary. She taught school at Cowan (3rd and 4th grade) Royerton (2nd grade) Dunkirk (1st and Kindergarten).She was a guidance counselor at Royerton 2 years. She then retired from Sutton after teaching 2nd grade with her best friend Georgia Pope.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband Maurice B. Carver; her daughter Vicky Lynn Rector (husband Steve) and a step daughter Kindra Oates (Zane) and 2 step sons Mike (Cheryl) and Marty (Thalia). Nancy has 4 grandsons Steven (wife Tasha) Bryce (wife Tabitha) Michael (wife Kate) and Zac (wife Cara). Nancy also has 2 great grandsons Nolan and John Michael and a great granddaughter Natalie. Nancy has 2 brothers Russell Phares (wife Jeanie) Robert Phares (wife Nancy) and several nieces & nephews.   In addition to her parents, her youngest daughter Kathy Lynn Bow preceded her in death.

Nancy loved children, all children!!! .Her son in-law Steve baptized her at Bethel Church of Christ. She had also attended Towne Acres church of Christ and Riverside Methodist.
