Naomi Ann McCord, 76, of Redkey died early Friday morning March 11, 2016 at Albany Health and Rehabilitation. She was born June 25, 1939 in Muncie and was the daughter of the late Robert Anderson and Mary Alice (Wright) Mangus.
Naomi served as a postal carrier for 12 years with the United States Postal Service and as a crossing guard for Muncie Community Schools. She loved to sing and was very active in a trio that traveled and sang at many churches. Naomi was an active member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and going on family vacations.
Naomi is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Gail Lee McCord of Redkey; two daughters LeAnn Brummet (Leland) of Anderson and Holly Garrett (Stevie) of Dunkirk; five grandchildren Jacob Shrack, Brianna Coons, Jordon Coons, Phillip Brummet, and Meghan Brummet; a brother Robert Mangus (Jessie) of Redkey.
Funeral Services for Naomi will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 3001 Burlington, Muncie with Pastor Kevin Holt officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 at Garden View Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to Glad Tidings Assembly of God with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
