Naomi Ruth McDonald, 83, of Muncie, IN died Saturday October 3, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in Muncie, IN. She was born on April 9, 1926 in Alexandria, IN the daughter of Marshall and Mary (Craig) Plackard.
She lived in California for many years where she was a nurse and church secretary. They moved back to Indiana where she was a nurse, church secretary and faithful servant for several years. Naomi retired from the Ball Memorial Visiting Nurses Association. She was a wonderful seamstress, loved making flower arrangements, a fantastic carpenter, and awesome cook, an immaculate home decorator and she loved chocolate. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and mother-in-law. She loved her family and devoted all her time to doing things for them. Naomi was a generous person, always smiling; she would help a neighbor any way she could.
Naomi is survived by a sister Marilyn Frazier, a brother Donald Plackard, daughter-in-law Carol, son Patrick McDonald (wife: Connie), grandchildren David (Becky); Ryan (Teri), Jessica (Chris), and Adam; one great grandchild, three step great-grandchildren, three great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, aunt Aldah, son Michael, a brother-in-law Gene, and step great great-grandson Kyron.

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday October 7, 2009 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery 10703 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN is assisting the family with the arrangements.
