Nathaniel Barnes, age 59, passed away Friday, January 18, 2008 at Muncie Health Care Center. He was a lifelong resident of Muncie.
Mr. Barnes was a graduate of Muncie Southside High School, attended Ball State University and was a Vietnam Veteran receiving a Purple Heart. He had formerly worked at Westinghouse of Muncie. He was a member of Christ Temple Church and was an avid photography buff.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son, Jerald Havey, Indianapolis, IN; his mother, Elizabeth Barnes, Muncie, IN; two sisters, Sharon (husband: Otis) Jamerson, Las Vegas, NV and Betty Pendergrass, Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren; two nieces, and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Early Barnes and a brother, Earl Barnes. Services will be Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Temple Church.
Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to services at the church.
Internment will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by the Delaware County Honor Guard.
