Nelson Floyd Reese, 91, 53 year resident of Muncie, IN died Monday March 12, 2007 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on October 23, 1915 the son of Floyd M. and Lela Mary (Roby) Reese. In 1933 he graduated from Barberton High School. On June 10, 1939 he married Yvonne Evelyn Orr.
Nelson was the owner of Nelson Reese Vacuum Sales and Service for over 40 years. He was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church in Muncie. He enjoyed horses and was a member of the Muncie Light Horse Club for over 50 years. He was also a member of the Indiana Hunter-Jumper Association, East Central Indiana Therapeutic Horseback Riding Association, and a past member of the Muncie Lions Club.
Surviving relative include his wife of 67 years, Yvonne Reese of Muncie; two sons, Alan F. Reese (wife: Carol) of Naperville, IL, James A. Reese (wife: Beverly) of Muncie; one daughter, Mary R. McGinnis (husband: Steven) of Marietta, GA; one brother, Bruce M. Reese of Oregonia, OH; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday March 17, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 in Muncie. Pastor Karen Powell will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday March 16, 2007 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to the Muncie Light Horse Club or the Riverside United Methodist Church in memory of Nelson.
