Norma Melvin, 72, of Muncie, IN died July 3, 2007 at her residence in Muncie. She was born on September 30, 1934 in Greenup County, KY the daughter of Joseph and Mae (Rose) Miller. On December 17, 1953 in Wurtland, KY she married Chester Melvin who survives.
Norma loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. She especially enjoyed spending time with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading her Bible.
Surviving relatives include her husband of 55 years, Chester Melvin of Muncie, one daughter, Debra J. Duncan (special friend, Jeffery Utsler); four grandsons, Hubert Bo'' Duncan (wife: Amber) of Muncie; Chris Duncan (wife: Amanda) of Muncie; Jason Duncan (wife: Cathy) of Parker City; Chester Duncan (wife: Kendra) of Muncie; great-grandchildren, Jalen, Jansen, Cierra, Caitlyn, Kaitlin, Devlin, Kacie, Chris Jr., Jasen, Alyssa, Alexia, Andrianna, and Haley; four sisters, Helen, Barb, Donna and Annie; one brother, Happy Miller; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bud, one sister, Maxine, and one daughter, Diana Kay.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday July 5th, 2007 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Coleman Barlow will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie. Visitation will be on Thursday from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home.
