Norma Jean Swartz, 91, of Hartford City, died early Wednesday morning, November 29, 2017 at Crown pointe Communities in Hartford City. She was born August 19, 1926 in Anderson, Indiana and was the daughter of the late Frederick & Lillian (King) Bowman.
Norma was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved to work word search puzzles, reading, cooking, canning and bird watching. Norma was a graduate of Harrison High School class of 1944. She was employed at W.T. Grants as an office administrator. Norma was a member of the Corinth Congregational Christian Church.
Norma is survived by her five children, Danny Swartz (Mary) of Hartford City, David Swartz (Linda) of Mt. Orab, OH, Donald Swartz (Deborah) of Newburgh, Darryl Swartz (Betty) of Muncie and Linda Swartz of Muncie; eight grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren; a brother Marshall Bowman (Susan) of Phoenix, AZ and a sister Evelyn Smith (Francis) of Patriot, IN. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ray Irwin Swartz Jr., a brother Earl Bowman, a grandson Chad Swartz and a great-grandson Colton Swartz.
Funeral Services for Norma Jean will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
