Norman L. Brooks, 84, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Golden Living Center following an extended illness.
Norman was born in Clarion, Pennsylvania on September 23, 1925, the son of Charles A. and Effie (Elder) Brooks and attended Clarion, Pennsylvania Schools.
Mr. Brooks served proudly in the United States Navy during World War II where he received a World War II Victory Medal and the American Area Ribbon.
He worked for over forty years as a Machine Repairman with Borg Warner and worked part-time for H & R Block as a tax preparer. Norman was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his step-daughter, Marilyn Aaron, (husband, Dale), Pendleton; a step-son, Michael Lamb, (wife, Bonnie), Middletown, Ohio; three step-grandchildren, Jim Lee, (fiance, Pam), Shelly Criswell, (husband, David) and Rick Turner; and three great grandchildren, Jessica, Megan and Gracie Criswell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of fifty-four years, Mary Lou Brooks; a brother, George L. Brooks; a sister, Ethel Strattan; and a great granddaughter, Mattie Criswell.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2010 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor John Malzahn and Reverend Tracy Paschke-Johannes officiating.
Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery North of Muncie. Military Honors will be preformed at the cemetery by the Delaware County Honor Guard.
