O.L. "Hoss" May, 86, passed away Monday, September 7, 2009, at the Regency Place of Greenfield, Indiana.
He was born October 11, 1922, in Avoca, Indiana, the son of Noble and Myrtle (Mitchell) May. "Hoss" married the love of his life, Mildred (Zink) May, March 6, 1949, in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
"Hoss" proudly served the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. May had worked in the Personnel Dept. of Chevrolet in Muncie for thirty-two years before his retirement in 1980.
"Hoss" enjoyed coin collecting, gardening, making clocks, oil painting, and bowling and was an avid Cubs baseball fan. He was a member of Hazelwood Christian Church. Hoss was an Eagle Scout and an original member of the Order of the Arrow.
Survivors include one son, Gary May (wife, Kathy), Fishers; two daughters, Mary Nepote (husband, Matt), Richmond and Teri Stanley (husband, Brad), Muncie; three grandchildren, A.J., Lacy, and Samantha Billiter; three great grandchildren, Harmoney, Auziah and Lucas Billiter; four step grandchildren, Jason and Jennifer Merritt and Thomas and Xanny Stanley; one step great grandson, Donovan Merritt; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred; an infant daughter; and one brother, Ebert May.
Services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with Rev. Dennis Rush officiating.
Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd 3,Muncie, IN.
