Oma V. Handley passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at her daughter's residence following an extended illness.
Oma was born in Warren the daughter of William Hugh and Clara Alice (Wiles) Rayburn, and attended Muncie Central High School.
Mrs. Handley co-owned H. and H. Sandwich shop with her husband for over seventeen years. She was a lifetime member of Women of the Moose Chapter #712.
Survivors include a daughter, Saundra Swain, (husband, Monte), Gaston; two sisters, Sarah Cox, Muncie and Wanda Ruth Harvey, Richmond; a grandson, Jeffrey A. White, Muncie; a granddaughter, Nancy C. White, Muncie; a great-grandson, Robert D. White, Muncie; longtime neighbors, Noah and Jackie Mason; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of over sixty-one years, Russell "Bill" Handley; a daughter, Virginia Oma Handley; and three sisters, Helen Heddens, Betty Warford, and Johanna Chambers.
Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Parson Mortuary with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Friends may call at Parson Mortuary from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday.
