Oscar O. Gross, 97, passed away on September 25, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital and went to his eternal home
He was born June 18, 1913, in Auglaize County, OH. Oscar retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company after 27 years of service.
After his retirement, Oscar worked at Westminster Village for ten years. He was a member of Hazelwood Christian Church and had previously been a member of Yorktown Christian Church for many years. Oscar was a true humanitarian and he was always helping other people.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Lois (Reed) Gross; a daughter, Carol (husband, Bob) Owens of Yorktown; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are a dear sister in law, Myrna Atkinson; a dear brother in law, Jack L. Reed, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Hazelwood Christian Church with Rev. Colby Smith officiating. Burial will be on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in Gardens of Memory Cemetery of Muncie.
Friends may call at Hazelwood Christian Church on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
