Pansy Jewell Thomas, 80, of Hartford City, IN, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Blackford Community Hospital in Hartford City. She was born on August 16, 1929 in Robbins, TN to the late Jessie and Julie (Clark) Pryor.
Pansy loved to oil paint; can jelly and vegetables; fish; and shop. She also was a hard worker who worked all of her life. Pansy worked for Ball Memorial Hospital''s housekeeping staff and retired in 1991 after 22 1/2 years of service.
Pansy is survived by her children: Danny Thomas; Donald "Donnie" Thomas (wife: Clesta); Sheila Modricker (husband: John); and Ronnie Thomas, all of Hartford City; brother Gordon Pryor (wife: Doris) of Hartford City; 8 grandchildren: John Daniel Thomas; Donnie J. Thomas; Aaron Thomas; Stacey Pagan; Amber Campbell; Joshua Modricker; Andrea Thomas; and Kari Thomas; 14 great-grandchildren; and Norma Pryor.
Pansy was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Aleas Jones; Margaret Boling; and Evelyn Gold; and brothers: Eb Pryor and Paul Pryor.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009, from 3:005:00 p.m and 6:008:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie, IN. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Jeff Holter will officiate the service with additional remarks from Reverend Robert Thomas. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 10703 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. Memorial contributions can be made to Cancer Services of East Central Indiana, The Little Red Door, 401 W.
