It is with great sadness that we send Patrick Smith to his final resting place.  Patrick Smith died at the age of 78 shortly after moving to Countryside Meadows in Avon, Indiana.  Patrick, or Pat, as most knew him, died in his sleep on November 1, 2024. He was remembered as a very kind and loving person, with a quick smile and a ready joke.
Mr. Smith was born on October 4, 1946 and adopted by Josephine Lykins. He was later adopted by Charles and Mable Smith.  He graduated from Hartford City High School and enlisted in the U.S.Navy.  He served at the U.S. Naval Submarine Base in New London, Connecticut from 1965-1969.  He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.  After exiting the service, he attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana where he met his wife, Susan Smith.
His proudest moment was the birth of their daughter, Jennifer Low, maiden name Smith.  Patrick was a loving and supportive father who always had wonderful stories to tell and always tried to put a smile on everyone's face.
He is preceded in death by wife Alice Susan Smith. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Low and granddaughter, Kyla Low.
Services for Patrick will be held at the Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 IN-3, Muncie, IN 47303. Public Viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 12 from 11am-1pm with a Memorial Service following.
