ALEXANDRIA - Patty L. "Humphries" Stinefield, 74, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Community Hospital, Anderson following a brief illness.
She was born December 19, 1936 to Gerald "Mac" and Alberta (Jester) Humphries and resided in the Alexandria area all of her lifetime.
Patty was a graduate of Harrison Township High School, class of 1954. She was the Office Manager for the Delaware Country Club in Muncie since 1977. She and her husband were avid fans of Indiana University athletics and their home has been featured in area media for its IU theme dcor. She was a supporter of the IU Alumni Association, the IU Varsity Club and was a member of the Women of the Moose in Muncie. Patty enjoyed the time spent at Big Chapman Lake with family and friends.
Survived by her husband, Dale Stinefield (married May 5, 1956); mother, Alberta Humphries, Summitville; brother, Dick (Tamara) Humphries, Alexandria; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place at 6 P.M., Monday, December 27, 2010 in the Owens Funeral Home, 412 North Harrison Street, Alexandria with Pastor Jerry Young officiating. Committal services will take place at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in the Mausoleum Chapel at Gardens of Memory, State Road 3 North, Muncie.
Friends may call at the Owens Funeral Home in Alexandria after 4 P.M. on Monday prior to the services.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Athletic Department of Alexandria, Monroe Central High School through the funeral home.
