Paul Eugen Swingley, 86 of Selma, left this world to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Monday, August 6, 2018. He was born September 30, 1931 and has lived in Delaware County his entire life. He was a graduate of Center High School in 1949; he then served in the US Navy in the Korean War. Paul and Bonnie his wife of 39 years were married September 1, 1979. Paul operated Swingley's Dairy Farm with his son Pete most of his life, along with 22 years at General Motors, he also worked for Wrightway Automotive and the Liberty Perry Schools retiring as a bus driver and a Maintenance Supervisor. Lifetime member of Selma America Legion Post#437 and a member of the Selma Lions Club. Paul and Bonnie spent lots of hours gardening, fishing, and pontooning on Prairie Creek Reservoir. He also loved driving and fixing up his old "52 Willys" Jeep.
Paul is survived by a large family who will miss him dearly. His wife Bonnie Swingley. His children Pete (Connie), Eric (Kathy), Tina (Randy), Tara (Joe), Theresa (Mike) and Sheila. His grandchildren Ryan Ranger, Kindra (Jeremy), Jericka (Sean), April, Chelsie, Mckensie, Erika (Daniel), Katelyn (Nick), Tierra (Justin), Joseph, Joston, Karia, Angel, Issac, Justin, Randy, Christopher; great-grandchildren Riley, Makenna, Brandt, Jereck, Maelyn, Gradie, Noah, Hunter, Emerie, Kyngston, Delilah, Josiah, Jeremiah, Jerico, Kelly, Sean, Theo, James, La'Niya, and Tyaire. Paul was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Swingley, his adopted father George Swingley and his birth father Joe McCallister, his mother Arlene Castle, sister Sybil Montgomery and a son Larry Glaze.
Burial will follow the funeral service in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with military honors being conducted by the United States Navy and the Delaware County Honor Guard.
