Phillip M. Hawk, 66, of rural Muncie, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, October 29, 2015 in Anderson, Indiana.
Phillip was born October 16, 1949 to the late Harold and Nell Hawk. He was a member of the first graduating class of Delta High School in 1968. He retired in 2000 after 30 years of employment with Borg Warner. Phil was a partner with his brother Ron and nephew David in Hawk Farms, Inc.
Phillip enjoyed raising and racing Standardbred horses. He was a member of the U.S. Trotting Association and the Indiana Racing Association. He was also a member of the U.A.W..
Phillip is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Sandra J. Hawk; a daughter, Megan Hawk of Warner Robins, GA; two brothers, Ron Hawk (wife Lee Anna) of Muncie and Don Hawk (wife Lynn) of Elkhart; sister-in-law, Sharon James (husband Gary) of Albany; mother-in-law, June Miller of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Nell Hawk; and a sister-in-law, Janet Hawk.
A funeral Service to celebrate Phillip''s life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 2, 2015, at Garden View Funeral Home. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
