Obituary

Phillip L. Hiatt, 76, passed away Wednesday morning, July 14, 2010 at his home following an extended illness.
He was born September 15, 1933 in Muncie, the son of Harold Hiatt and Lorena "Toni" Hiatt Kennedy. Phil graduated from Muncie Central High School and attended Ball State University.
He served in the Army and Naval Reserve, and was a firefighter in Muncie for thirty-four years. Phil enjoyed fishing and golf.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Barbara Hiatt, Muncie; two sons, Steven Hiatt and Jeffrey Hiatt, both of Muncie; two grandchildren, Stephanie and Kristopher Hiatt; a brother-in-law, Emory Starks; one niece; and two nephews.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents; and his half-brother, James Kennedy.
There will be no calling or services. Private inurnment of remains will occur at a later date at Gardens of Memory Cemetery north of Muncie.
