Phillip Swain

Phillip Swain, 88, of Muncie, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 22, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Muncie on April 16, 1937, Phillip was the son of the late Raymond and Leora Swain. A proud United States Army veteran, Phillip dedicated his life to hard work and service, spending much of his career as a truck driver. He was known for his love of the open road and his strong work ethic.

Phillip married the love of his life, Lois, with whom he shared many cherished years. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and adventure. He enjoyed camping, boating, working on cars, and watching or attending races. His passion for life and mechanical know-how left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lois; his children: Clifford (Aundrea) Swain, Ryan Swain, (Kelly Finch) Tim (Barbara) Hatfield, Mark Hatfield, Kenny Hatfield, Chad (Tanya) Hatfield, and Donna (Chuck) Russell . He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Phillip was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend — a man remembered for his warm heart, generous spirit, and enduring strength.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal service. Garden View Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements, and cremation will take place as requested by the family.

He will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
