Obituary

Phillip J. Waters, 84, of Yorktown, IN went home to be with the Lord on Friday March 19, 2010 at his residence. He was born on June 30, 1925 in Barthell, KY the son of Henley and Lillie (Ledbetter) Waters. On September 6, 1952 he married Virginia Sue (Hill) Waters.
Phillip loved God with all his heart. He was a charter member of the Westside United Baptist Church and was a Pastor and Assistant Pastor. He enjoyed spending time with his family and being outdoors. He was a member of the Sulphur Springs Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and the Kentucky Colonels. He retired in 1982 from Delco Remy in Anderson, IN after 32 years of service.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife of 57 years, Virginia Sue Waters of Yorktown, IN; six children, Delores Wagers of London, KY; Phillip Junior Waters (Janie) of Muncie, IN; Tim Waters (Melanie) of Yorktown, IN; Paula Shannon (Earl; deceased) of Somerset, KY; Steven Lewis Waters (Traci) of Yorktown, IN; Crystal Hobbick (William) of Muncie, IN; nine brothers and sisters, Arnold Waters of Muncie, IN; Corina Levell (Norm); Louise Spradlin; Don Watters (Charlotte); Bob Watters (Anna); David Watters (Wilma) all of Daleville, IN; John Watters (Rachel) of Pineknot, KY; Dallas Watters (Sue); Jimmy Waters (Maxine) both of Whitley City, KY; 20 Grandchildren; 13 Great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, one sisters and one son-in-law.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday March 23, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Bro. Lewis Waters, Rev. Clayton Terry and Rev. Larry Waters will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie, IN. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Southern Care Hospice.
