Phyllis Elaine McKenzie, louisville, KY, passed away on January 11, 2024. She was 91 years old. Phyllis was born in Muncie, IN to her parents Chester and Maude Virene Chalfant. She graduated from Center High School class of 1950. Phyllis was married to her first husband, Wallace Edwin for 40 years until he passed in 1996. Phyllis went on to marry George McKenzie and they spent 16 years together until 2019 when George passed away.
Phyllis worked as an assistant manager for L.S.Ayers lingerie department for 14 years until she retired in 1992. Phyllis was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Yorktown, IN for 25 years. Phyllis enjoyed gardening and floral arranging. She loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially during the Christmas season. She will be dearly missed by those she leaves behind.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Pam Whitsett, Connie Kiser and Allen Kiser; her grandchildren, Ryan Whitsett,Cammie (Crouse) Rosa, Emily (Whitsett) Hornback, David Crouse, Lauren Crouse and Elizabeth Whitsett; her great grandchildren, Alexis Humphrey, Braydon Humphrey, Vanessa Whitsett,Kaiser Whitsett, Collin Whitsett, Willow Hornback, Ethan Crouse and Emma Crouse; her great great grandchildren, Baylor Humphrey; her several  nieces and nephews.
Phyllis  is preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; her brother, Robert Chalfant.
