Phyllis C. Norris, 89, of Paris, IL and formerly of Muncie, IN and North Fort Myers, FL, passed away Monday, April 19, 2010 in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. Phyllis was born November 5, 1920 in Sterns, KY to the late Albert and Roxie (Sells) Franklin. She married Ernest S. Norris August 22, 1939 and he preceded her in death December 17, 1999.
Phyllis was a beautician and was previously employed at Muncie Chevrolet. She was a member of The Southside Church of God in Muncie.
Survivors include her daughter: Jerri Ricketts of Paris, IL; four brothers: Phillip Franklin of Muncie; Herb Franklin of Sebastian, FL; Boyd Franklin of Muncie; and Jim Franklin of Muncie; four grandchildren: Sammie Ray Norris of Muncie; Sonda Lynn Norris Kinnaird of Berea, OH; Barbara Ann Buchanan Cannon of Moriarity, NM; and John Ernest Buchanan of Mobile, AL; and three great-grandchildren: Devin Tyler Cannon of Albuquerque, NM; Braeden Kinnaird of Berea, OH; and Catelyn Elizabeth McBenge of Charleston, IL.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Ernest Norris; two sons: Bobby Ernest Norris and Sammie Ray Norris; one sister, and a companion, Richard Hufford.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Thursday, April 22, 2010, with visitation 2 hours prior from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. Pastor John Clegg will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie.
