R. Maxine Cook, 94, of Muncie, died early Friday morning at Golden Living Center. She was born February 27th, 1919 in Royal Center, IN and was the daughter of the late Everett & Grace (Williams) Kistler.
Maxine was a loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Maxine retired in 1988 after 27 years of service from Delaware Community Schools; she was employed in the school cafeteria as a cook, at both the Royerton High School & Elementary School. She loved to work in her flower beds, read, and listen to country music.
Maxine is survived by her three sons''; Michael Cook (Jeniffer) of Muncie, Steven Cook (Sally) of Muncie, and Robert Cook (Connie) of DeLand, FL; twelve grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Allen S. Cook, and a son Richard Cook.
Funeral Services for Maxine will be held Monday, December 23rd, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, with Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
