Rabon D. Dobbs of Matthews, Indiana passed away at the age of 84 at Elmcroft of Muncie early Monday, September 20, 2021. Rabon was born in Bardstown, Kentucky on August 7, 1937 to the late Melvin and Rona (Gregory) Dobbs.

Rabon worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed carpentry projects, working on cars, watching old westerns, and listening to country music.

Rabon is survived by his daughter, Tracey Pierce (Danny); grandchildren, Amber Childers (Alex), Chad Pierce (Jayme), and Jake Pierce (Kate); great grandchildren, Addison, Sicily, and Pierce; half-brothers, Jim Dobbs (Bonita), Terry Dobbs (Judy), and Steve Dobbs; half-sisters, Anna Hodge (Johnny), Connie Bales, and Ruby Dobbs (Scott Vestal); brothers-in-law, Carl Burton (Gloria) and Howard Burton; sister-in-law, Jane Perkins (Larry); and several nieces and nephews.

Rabon was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Rona (Gregory) Dobbs; step-mother, Dorothy Dobbs; wife, Jeannette Dobbs; brothers, Kohler Dobbs, Dilliard Dobbs, Williard Dobbs, and Peter Paul Dobbs; sister, Irene Baker; half-brother, Paul Anthony Dobbs, half-sister, Vera Marie Dobbs; and half-brother-in-law, Ron Bales.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 North State Road 3, Muncie with funeral services immediately following at 12:00 PM, also in the Funeral Home.
