Ralph E. Gadbury, 77, of Muncie, IN died Tuesday February 2, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, IN. He was born on June 20, 1932 in Hartford City, IN the son of Rilus E. and Doris (Pyle) Gadbury. He graduated from Hartford City High School in 1952. On September 12, 1952 he married Marjorie (Cain) Gadbury.
Ralph served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He retired after 35 years as owner of Independent Bathtub Reglazing. He served as a Vice President of Merchants National Bank.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife of 57 years, Marjorie Gadbury of Muncie, IN; eight children, Douglas Gadbury of Evansville, IN; Teresa Whiteside of Muncie, IN; Brenda Stephens of Hartford City, IN; Steven F. Gadbury of Muncie, IN; Stephanie Oldham (husband: Richard) Lewisburg, OH; Gregory Gadbury (wife: Jane) of Muncie, IN; Jennifer Cox (husband: Dennis) of Eaton, IN; David E. Gadbury (wife: Christy) of Dunkirk, IN; two sisters and two brothers, Virginia Vincent of Hartford City, IN; Richard Gadbury (wife: Dot) of Florida; Arthur Gadbury of Indianapolis, IN; Faith Price of Independence, MO; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bob Gadbury of Jackson, MI
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday February 4, 2010 at Garden View Funeral Home 10501 North State Road 3 Muncie, IN. Pastor Tom Stein will officiate the service. Burial will follow at the Elizabethtown Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
