Ralph R. Holsinger, 87, died February 28, 2016 peacefully at his home. He was born September 26, 1928 in Florida Station, Indiana, the son of Oscar and Maude Holsinger.
Ralph moved to Delaware County at age 18. In 1954 he started farming in the Gaston area. After retiring from farming in 1990, he drove a semi for several years for AgBest Co-op. He continued to live and work on the family farm until his death.
Ralph was a member of Prairie Grove Church where he taught Sunday School and was a Deacon Emeritus. Ralph truly enjoyed the fellowship of his friends at the church. He was a wonderful neighbor and took the time to get to know his neighbors. Ralph enjoyed spending time with his seven grandchildren attending their activities, cutting wood, helping them with their creative projects and just being their grandpa.
Survivors include his wife of eight years, Dora (Bryan) Holsinger of Gaston; two sons: Tom (Debbie) Holsinger of Gaston; Tim (Beth) Holsinger of Gaston; two daughters: Donna (David) Lesley of Denver, Colorado and Marla (Kevin) Austin of Anderson. Step-children: James Bryan (Anita) of Gaston and Anne Carter of Muncie. Grandchildren: James Lesley, Angela Holsinger, Jennifer Parks, Evan and Neil Austin, Paige Howard and Brandon Holsinger. Six great- grandchildren. Five step-grandchildren and one step-great- grandchild. One brother, Ron (Sue) Holsinger, two sisters, Mildred Johns and Barbara Denson, all of Anderson. Several nieces and nephews.
Ralph was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary M. (Hatton) Holsinger of Gaston, two brothers and seven sisters.
Services will be held Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at 1:00 pm. at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N Indiana 3, Muncie, Indiana with Rev. Joe Blaylock officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
