Ralph J. Stone, 83, of Muncie, IN, passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Ball Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 26, 1927 in Morehead, KY to the late Elmer Wells and Rebecca Jane (Caudill) Stone. On November 23, 1946 he married Wilma Pauline Spurlock.
Ralph was a stock chaser and tow motor driver for both Ball Brothers for 17years and Frank Founderies for 19 years. Ralph retired in 1981. Ralph enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and cheering on his Indiana Pacers and Colts.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Wilma Stone; their daughter Patricia A. Henman (husband, Harry) of Muncie; sister Margaret Bradley of Fortville, IN; 3 grandchildren: Michael A. Hannon of Indianapolis, IN; Melinda A. Anderson (husband, Brent) of Wolcottville, IN; and Charles E. Reynolds (wife, Rhonda) of Muncie; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters: Opal Thompson and Malissa Ellen Guffey; 2 brothers: Stewart Stone and John T. Stone; and half-brother Robert Stone.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 26, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State Rd. 3, Muncie. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with Reverend Henry Weaver officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association, The Alzheimer''s Association, and/or The American Diabetes Association, with envelopes provided by the funeral home.
