Ray Martin Neal, age 81, of Muncie went to be with his Lord, Monday, August 15, 2011 with his family at his side. He was born February 18, 1930 in Forbus, TN to Omar and Lucy (Crabtree) Neal.
He was a Navy veteran and an assembler at Borg-Warner and retired after 46 ½ years of service. Martin was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing guitar and he loved to spend time with his family. He was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church at Dunkirk, IN and at one time was Superintendent and Treasurer there.
He married Patty J. Farmer on January 31, 1966 and she survives along with their daughter, Michele Lawrence (husband Gregory) of Commerce Township, MI; brothers, Isaac Neal (wife Sue) of Cross Plains, TX, O. Dennis Neal (wife Judy) of Yorktown, IN; sister, Annamae Dollar, of Eaton, IN; grandchildren, Jordan Lindsay and Rachel Lindsay; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 18, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. State RD. 3, Muncie, IN 47303 with burial to follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 17, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions mat be made to The American Cancer Society, 1216 Meridian St., Anderson, IN 46016.
