Ray Knox, 88, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 18, 2014 in McAllen, Texas, where he has resided since 1993. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Bertha Knox, four brothers and four sisters, a daughter-in-law, Judy Brewer, and one son, Ron Brewer.

Ray is survived by his wife, Dorotha (Lorance) Knox, his wife of 53 years.; five children, Marti Knox of Seattle, WA, George, (Karen) Knox of Somerville, Alabama, Raymond Knox, Jr. of San Diego, CA, Gene (Dena) Brewer of Shelby, NC, Jim (Judy; deceased) Brewer of Atlanta, GA; seven grandchildren, Danielle (Tim) Dodd, Jesse Knox, Craig (Shelley) Knox, Andrea (Ronnie) Ferguson, Christopher Knox, Stan (Danielle) Zienka, and Dustin Brewer; and ten great-grandchildren.

Ray was born on February 23, 1926 in Blackford County, Indiana. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and worked for Delco Remy for 30 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Edinburg United Methodist Church.

Visitation will be held at Garden View Funeral Home in Muncie, IN on Wednesday, April 23 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed immediately by the funeral services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
