Raymond G. Miller, 70 of Muncie, Indiana passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025, surrounded by his living family.
Raymond was born in Bayonne, New Jersey to Olife H and Teresa R. Miller. The family relocated to Muncie, Indiana where Raymond was raised. He graduated from South Side High School and started roofing career with Adams Roofing. He later retired from Hinshaw Roofing and Sheet Metal. Raymond was a member of the Local Roofers Union 119 out of Indianapolis. After retirement Raymond was an instructor at Ivy Tech Community College teaching roofing basics.
As a teen Raymond met the love of his life Joni L. Shackelfurd. The two were married on September 2, 1983 in a loving ceremony surrounded by family and friends. Raymond and Joni ere blessed to share 41 years of blissful marriage and almost 50 of togetherness.
Raymond was an avid outdoorsman. He was skilled hunter and fisherman. He spent countless hours and weekends with his good friends at Catfisherman's Paradise in Marietta, Ohio as well as the prairie Creek Reservoir. He would also travel north to salmon fish in Michigan City on the piers. Raymond was passionate about turkey and deer hunting. When Raymond had down time he enjoyed talking with family and friends and reminiscing about life. He had a deep love and affection for his many dogs and cats.
Raymond leaves behind to cherish his memory, four siblings Eleanor (William) Vecchiolli, Donna Wallace, Teresa Miller and Mary (Scott) Swim and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was not only a beloved uncle but a mentor, role model and a father figure. He is proceeded in death by his wife Joni Miller (2025); a brother Lawrence Miller and two sister Leslie R. Miiler and Rebecca Dyer.
A visitation will be Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 11:00 am until the time of service at Garden View Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at noon at the funeral home. Raymond will be laid to rest next to his cherished Joni at Gardens of Memory.
