Raymond E. Spahr, 68, of Muncie, IN went home to be with his Lord Tuesday February 28, 2012 at his residence. He was born on February 9, 1944 in Portland, IN the son of Clyde and Marie (Glentzer) Spahr. On October 28, 1966 he married Patty (Lemon) Spahr.
Ray loved spending time with family and especially his grandchildren and watching them play sports. He was a past member of the Twin City Bible Baptist Church in Marion, IN and current member of the University Christian Church in Muncie, IN. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and traveling.
Surviving relatives include his loving wife, Patty Spahr of Muncie, IN; one son, Dr. Joseph Spahr (Karen) of Muncie, IN; one daughter, Kim Shepherd (David) of Council Bluffs, IA; one sister, Martha White (Gary) of Montpelier, IN; five grandchildren, Matthew, Josiah, and Nathan Shepherd, Abraham and Hannah Spahr; many extended family members; and three "adopted" sons, LaMar Horn of Upland, IN; Troy Noller of Ossian, IN; Scott Baker of Jonesboro, IN; and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday March 2, 2012 at the University Christian Church 2400 N. Nebo, Muncie, IN. Pastors Steve Huddleston and Dale Schuiteman will officiate the service. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the University Christian Church.
