Raymond "Dick" Taylor, 98, died Saturday in the care of Bethel Pointe Health and Rehabilitation Center in Muncie.

He was born in Delaware County, January 2, 1925, the son of Edward Taylor and Elizabeth Ruth (Mitchell) Taylor.

Mr. Taylor was employed for 30 years at General Motors (Chevrolet) Muncie, where he retired in 1974. A fan of local sports, including the Indiana Pacers, he was proud to support Ball State University and was always watching a game on TV.

Surviving are a son, Danny D. Taylor (wife: Robin); four granddaughters (Abby, Rachel, Lia, Aryanna); a grandson, Christopher M. Taylor (father: Mike); a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Taylor (husband: Mike) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Dawnetta "Dee" (Lacey) Taylor; a son, Richard Mike Taylor; his parents; two brothers, Edward "Pete" and Robert Taylor; and three sisters, Velma Mae, Mary Louise and Callie Belle.

Services will be held Friday at 12 p.m. at Garden View Funeral Home, and friends may call one hour prior to the service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
